A lot of people plan to advertise with Google, but there are important things to consider before doing so. Google has undoubtedly changed the face of the web. In fact, Google AdWords has made over 16 billion dollars for Google in 2007 alone. But despite that, not all advertisers profit from Google AdWords.
In order to make sure that you profits from your endeavour, you need to know what to do. You really don’t have to bid on the top keywords. The keywords that you bid on must be relevant to your website, but they may not necessarily be the most expensive. Here are a few Google AdWords tips that you can put into use.

Use Your Keywords
It’s a no brainer; always include your keywords on your Google AdWords ads. An average person glance through their Google search results very quickly, so you must place in your keywords strategically to grab their attention. Otherwise, your ad will be missed and lose a chance for sale. You must make sure that the keyword is in the ad and that the ad makes sense to your prospects. This may be difficult because there is a limited space for the ad, but an excellent advertiser can create great ads even with such little word space. Make sure that you include your keywords because if you don’t, you’re simply wasting money, time and effort.
Making Use of Bidding Strategies – High to Low Bidding
Lets take a look at how Google ranks your ads. Your ads are ranked according to your bid price and your click through number (Click Through Rate or CTR). The CTR is the number of clicks your ad gets when it was shown. Having a new account, you will have a lower quality score, which is normal. One way is to bid higher to get your ad shown. Most newbies bid high to get that initial exposure. This gets you better CTRs, and then you can slowly lower your bidding price. You aim is to have the lowest possible price that still keeps your ad on the first page.
Bidding from Low To High
Another method of bidding is by starting with low bids. This is very useful for keywords that aren’t so competitive or popular. If your budget is limited, you can also use this method. You begin by bidding low and then slowly increasing your bid price until you land on the first page. Again, you must try to land your ads on the first page with the lowest bid possible.
Use Negative Keywords
The use of negative keywords prevents your ads from appearing in search results that are totally unrelated. As an online advertiser, you have a specific target audience and you want your ads to appear in front of them. Sometimes, by not using the negative keywords, your ad can appear in an unrelated search term and in front of the wrong audiences. For example, you might be selling a dog collar and “collar” is your keyword. However, when someone type in the word “collar”, he may be looking for different information or different types of collar. He could be looking for cat collar. What you can do is to use the negative keywords function and add “cat” into it, so that your ad don’t show. You should always put in a negative keyword so that your ads do not appear on unnecessary searches. This will increase your CTRs and give your website more relevant visitors.
Test Ads
Testing ads is always important,but you don’t have to do much because Google AdWords can test your ads for you. By placing in two different ads in each AdGroup, Google AdWords then alternately displays the ads in search results. After running your ads for some time, based on the CTR results of each ad, you can choose which ad to use. If you have numerous ads, you can repeat this process until you find the perfect ad for your campaign.
Everyday, Google display millions of ads online and if you plan to use Google AdWords, you need to do more to succeed. To make your ads stand out and generate profit, a little information and understanding about how Google AdWords is crucial. These tips may just be a few among the strategies that you have to master, but these tips can help you start.

You know what’s really driving me nuts (and probably you as well)? The fact that about 90% of the systems and courses available on the net right now are all teaching the exact same thing!
Everyone is taking the same AdWords or PPC training guide, changing it a tiny little bit and then re-selling it as some brand new, never before seen system that will create millions for you.
And it’s all the same regurgitated information! All people are doing is simply slapping a new cover on an old ebook and call it new.
It’s really incredible that so many people are getting away with this, and even more incredible is the number of people who get “taken” by this shady practice each and everyday.
AdWords and PPC are old news, they were great 4 or 5 years ago, but these days you’ve got to spend months and thousands of bucks perfecting your technique before you have a chance.
I swear Google is making it harder and harder to spend money with them. And if you’re an affiliate marketer forget it, you can’t just send people to your affiliate link any more, you now have to create your own landing page to get a better page (quality) score or your ads won’t be shown.
Also think of the cost of AdWords and PPC. Bidding on keywords can cost a small fortune and if you don’t know what you’re doing you can burn through your money blazing fast and still have nothing to show for it.
Sorry, it’s just the truth. If you’re a one-man-show it’s going to be a long, bumpy and expensive road.
So what’s the solution?
Screw AdWords and PPC! Let’s do something new.

Enter Cell Phones…
Did you know that out of the 303 million people in the United States 250 million of them own a cell phone!!
Right now over 61% of the World population uses a cell phone on a regular basis. That’s over 4.3 Billion cell phone users worldwide and those 4 Billion plus people look at their cell phone dozens of times per day.
You can reach more people via their cell phone than any other media on the planet. More people have a cell phone than have a television, computer, internet or anything else you can think of!
The most incredible part is that the cell phone market is virtually un-tapped. Imagine being the first person to figure out that email was a good way to promote products to people back in 1998.
Can you imagine how much money that person made?
This is the same situation, it’s virgin territory, and with 4.3 Billion people in the market and tens of thousands more joining every day the market just keeps getting bigger, and the growth isn’t going to stop any time soon, so there will never be any danger of over-saturation.
Compare the cost of the average AdWords or PPC campaign to Cell Phone Advertising, now I am being conservative but on average your keywords for a AdWords or PPC campaign will cost you around $1.50 to $2.00. Yes I know it may be less or more but on average it’s about this amount.
You can do the same advertising on cell phones for 5 CENTS, No that’s not a misprint, I said 5 cents. (It’s even as low as 3 cents). Try finding top keywords with Adwords or a PPC campaign for this amount… good luck.
Let’s compare, shall we…
If you had a budget of $50 per day for Adwords or PPC and you had to spend a $1.50 for your keywords, you could ONLY afford 33 clicks per day and then your budget is gone. Only 33 people would see your offer.
However if you were advertising on Cell Phones and it only cost you 5 cents per click you could have 1000 clicks before your budget was done for the day. Now 1000 people could see your offer in a single day.
Who do you think will make money faster?
I just did some cell phone advertising using a $50 budget for the day with a 5 cent click rate, plus I ONLY advertised on iPhones, which is only 11% of the market and here are my results.
I got 63,985 impressions, I generated 1000 clicks (it could have been more but I only budgeted for $50) and my click thru rate was 1.56% and I made 19 sales.
The cost of my product was $47, less the $50 dollars for advertising I made a PURE PROFIT of $843 in one day. Not bad for only spending $50.
That’s all well and good but before you jump into Cell Phone advertising there are a few simple steps you have to take when analyzing and attacking a new market:
1) Find a way to get your message out to the people who are looking for what you’re offering.
Solution: Search in Google for Mobile Advertising Platform these are companies that will delivery your message for you. Make sure you check each company out before you sign up, you don’t want to be associated with a company that spam’s.
Here’s a little tip, avoid big companies like Google who have a cell phone advertising division through AdWords. You will need to spend a big chuck of change to advertise with them, which defeats the purpose of more cost effective advertising with cell phones.
2) Find the right product that you can promote to the people in that market for a commission.
Solution: Market your own product or use Clickbank. At Clickbank you will find tens of thousands of products you can offer. Just remember any web site you send people to CANNOT have video. The video used on websites is not compatible on cell phones.
Here’s a tip: find products or services on Clickbank that offer recurring payments, IE: membership programs. Remember my example earlier where I made $843 in one day, well that was to a membership site so I will make that amount every month.
3) Develop a method to present the product you choose in a way that motivates people to buy it.
Solution: Simply write eye catching and motivating ad copy for your cell phone ads. Keep in mind you have a limited number of characters to do this (usually no more then 35), so practice, practice.
Here’s a tip use words like Touch Here in your ad. People that use iPhone have touch screens so they are already in the habit of touching to navigate their phone.
4) Fine tune your plan and repeat it as many time as possible to maximize your earnings.
Solution: Test, test and test again. Because cell phone advertising is so effective you can see your results immediately. This gives you the opportunity to see what’s working and what’s not and make the appropriate adjustments.
I just mentioned the iPhone, here’s how big and untapped the market is. Did you know that the Apple iPhone only has an 11% Market Share in the Cell Phone Industry as of Q1 2009?
What about the other 89% of the people?
For all you stat buffs it breaks down like this:
Apple (iPhone) 11%
HTC 5%
Fujitsu 4%
Other 19%
Blackberry 20%
Nokia 41%
When I took marketing, one phrase stuck with me during my studies. “If you want to be successful in marketing see what everyone else is doing and do the opposite”

Attracting targeted traffic is a task that should be taken seriously for any site to succeed or make a profit. Fortunately, there are internet-marketing tools that help the website marketer to drive traffic to his website. One of the most significant, and effective, of these tools is Google’s Adwords. Adwords is one of Google’s advertising services.

Google is the largest search engine on the web receiving over 200 million queries each day through its various services. As Google is the most popular search engine today, webmasters are keen on having their websites achieve a higher ranking in the search engine results it provides. A high ranking can mean high traffic for that website. The search engine results page is also a great venue for advertisers to promote a product or service through ads and links. Consequently, Google launched its Adwords service, as a way for businesses to advertise products and services to a targeted audience. Google Adwords can guarantee instant traffic. In this service, Google displays relevant text based ads within its search engine results page termed as “Sponsored Links”. Whenever a particular keyword is searched on, these relevant links appear in a separate section giving excellent exposure to the sites listed.

Using Google Adwords? First, you have to open an account with the Google Adwords Service. Then, you should indicate your target language and country. This is important because you would not want your products advertised in countries where your product or service cannot be sold. Afterwards, you should now create an ad group. This involves designing the ad, selecting keywords and determining maximum cost per click that you are willing to spend and defining bid amounts. The most important step in creating a successful Adwords campaign is selecting an effective title tag that will catch the attention of your target audience for your new business online. The title tag, generally a short phrase, is the most important part of your Adwords campaign so make sure that it is attractive and catchy. You should describe the website clearly and accurately. There are keyword variations you can adapt to reach more prospects. Using these varieties, misspellings and derivatives can help increase the chance of your ads being served. Broad match is targeting keywords in a loosely defined manner. Here, the ads appear based on the keywords that have been queried by other users as opposed to exact match, which calls for the keyword to match the query exactly. Meanwhile, a keyword phrase set to phrase match will only appear when the exact phrase is searched on. A negative keyword is helpful in filtering unrelated pages.

When you have decided on what title tag to use in your ad, you must now define a budget in order to maximize exposure. Google Adwords recommend a daily budget for each campaign. However, you should determine a budget that is suitable and affordable. You should also determine the maximum cost per click. Google will offer a recommended cost per click, but you do not have to stick with this. Usually, a number one position is not ideal as it can also attract unwanted traffic and useless clicks.
