At Least Three People Die In School Bus Crash In Keswick Lake District Cumbria UK News Sky News

At least three people have died in a school bus crash in Keswick in the Lake District. Four people are critically injured and 35 others are described as “walking wounded” following the crash between the bus, minibus and a car on the A66 in Cumbria. Police have been unable to say whether any of the dead are schoolchildren. The coach, operated by JB Pickthall, is believed to have been carrying children from Keswick School. Gerard Tubb, Sky’s north of England correspondent, said there were reports the bus had turned over. Six helicopters, including an RAF craft, six ambulances are at the scene along with non-emergency ambulances, rapid response vehicles, doctors and mountain rescue teams, Cumbria Police say. Pickthall coaches The coach was operated by JB Pickthall Serious casualties have been air lifted to Middleborough, Newcastle and Preston A&E departments. The first receiving hospital is West Cumberland. Those being treated at the scene are suffering from spinal injuries, fractures, and cuts and bruises, police say. The A66, one of the main roads through the Lake District, has been closed. Motorists are advised to follow a diversion route from Crosthwaite Roundabout via A591 to Bothel and on the A595 to Cockermouth. Gorilla Marketing Tactics Part Three will be fairly short. I want to briefly explain viral video marketing and the power you have using this technique to reach millions of people, for free.
A viral video is a video which gains popularity through internet sharing. This could happen through posting your video on your blog, on squidoo, through e-mail… whatever. Your video should also get some views through keyword searches and links from related videos on Youtube. If your video is well liked, once it has some views it should spread in popularity pretty well through word-of-mouth (or through link sharing or whatever).
If you want to market through viral video, you’re going to want to post your video on Youtube. Then of course post a link to your homepage or whatever page you want people to visit. In order to be successful, you want your video to be funny, thought-provoking, or captivating in some manner. Comedy generally works very well because people just love to laugh.
With respect to what to actually put into a video, that’s completely up to you… you have to be creative. Your video doesn’t even really have to relate to what you’re trying to market (although it probably should). How many of you have seen the drumming Cadbury Gorilla (click text to see video)? I forget how I got directed to this video, I think through a video post on Facebook. Either way, I did get linked to this video somehow, because whoever saw it thought it was funny. As you can see though, the actual video has nothing whatsoever to do with Cadbury chocolate. Regardless, this video has 3.5 million views on Youtube right now.
An even more popular video can be seen here here. This guy recorded himself playing guitar, then said he learned to play with GuitarMasterPro.net. I just checked this video, and it has almost 60 million views! That’s 60 million FREE views. How many people who saw the video were impressed enough that they clicked on the GuitarMasterPro.net link and signed up? Even if it was a small percentage of that 60 million, it’s well worthwhile considering it was free. This video was posted over a couple years ago, but it’s still getting views (last comment posted two minutes ago when I checked).
There’s a guy at CarbonCopyPRO who made over $100 000 in one month using only marketing videos on Youtube. He just made lots and lots of videos of himself whenever he could… on the beach… at his house… whatever. He posted them on Youtube and got tons of traffic, which turned into tons of leads and tons of conversions. He made over $100 000 without spending any money on marketing. That’s how powerful viral marketing can be.

If you’re like nearly every Webmaster who has Google Adsense on your websites, you have undoubtedly been tempted by the Adsense Gurus who promise to teach you how to make a gazillion dollars a month with no extra work. While this of course sounds enticing, like everything else on the web; if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
I’m going to tell you up front, for free, what all the gurus charge $40 to $250 to learn.

Are you sure you’re ready to receive this earth shattering, mind blowing secret that will MAKE YOU MONEY RIGHT NOW!?
The secret is; There are no Adsense secrets!
Believe me, if there was a secret method to make thousands of dollars a month with little to no work, none of these gurus would go through all the effort to tell the world about it. They would exploit the secret themselves and sit in their walrus leather super massage loungers on their solid gold super yachts and laugh at all the poor saps following the rules
There are no Adsense secrets, just common sense and a couple of neat little ideas that you can implement that will increase the CTR (Click Through Rate) of the Adsense ads being served on your website. And an increased CTR means increased MIYP (Money In Your Pocket).
The first thing you must realize is that content is king. If your website does not have an abundance of keyword rich, search engine friendly content that provides a valuable service to your visitors, no amount of Adsense tweaking in the world will make a difference. There are far too many sites slapped together with the sole intention of generating Adsense income. In fact, for $40 or so on eBay, you can buy a CD with over 350 websites themed to high paying keywords and setup for Adsense. All you have to do is enter your Adsense information and sit back while the Mailman struggles to deliver the hernia inducing bags of Adsense checks to your doorstep.
This is a really cool fantasy, one that is almost as fun to entertain as the winning the Lottery fantasy, but it just isn’t going to happen. These sites have no original, valuable content. People who may be suckered into visiting one of the sites will see that in an instant, and view the Google Adsense ads as a desperate and annoying attempt at fooling them into clicking. If a live Adsense editor were ever to visit one of these sites, your Adsense account would be suspended quicker than you can say click fraud.
The underlying non-secret that all the Adsense gurus want to sell you is that if your Adsense ads look like content, and are tightly keyed to your own valuable, original content, you will see your CTR rate double at the least, and more likely triple or more.
1. Remove the Adsense Border. By default, the Adsense units are surrounded by a border with a text box at the top that says “Ads by Gooooogle”. You goal is to work the Adsense units into your content as seamlessly as possible, so get rid of the borders. Now, Google won’t allow you to delete the borders, but they do allow you to control the colors of nearly every element of an Adsense unit. Simply make the border the same color as the background of your website. This goes for the background color of the Adsense unit as well, change it to match the background color of your webpage.
2. Use Rectangular Box Sizes for your Adsense Units. Most people start out using the horizontal skyscraper format, you know, the one that looks like a banner. The problem is people have developed an advertising sensory overload, they don’t even see banner ads anymore, they visually tune them out. You need to make your Adsense unit blend in with your content, so use rectangular boxes. I get the best response with the 336X280 box size. Most languages are read from left to right, so try to place your rectangular Adsense unit in a table aligned to the right of your text.
3. It’s all about the colors. Google gives you an incredible amount of leeway with the colors you can select for your Adsense units. Use this to your favor, in addition to changing the border and background color, change the link and URL color as well. Most people are accustomed to clickable links being blue, so make sure your Adsense links are blue, with one exception: if you use a different link color on your site, change the Adsense links to match that color. At the bottom of each Adsense unit there is the URL for website paying for that ad. You want to draw attention away from the URL and towards the clickable link, change the color of the link to match the body color of the ad, generally black.
Just follow these three simple guidelines and your CTR will skyrocket. Keep adding more original, relevant content to your site, increase your targeted traffic, and watch your Adsense revenue explode.

Legitimate email marketing is a great way to stay in touch with your customers and prospects. It’s inexpensive, fast, efficient, and environmentally friendly. Email marketing allows you to target your customers and prospects by their particular interests, it allows you quickly announce special promotions (either planned promotions or impromptu promotions based on changing conditions). Email is the perfect way to send a monthly newsletter. Email marketing’s efficiency was underscored in a study by the Direct Marketing Association which found that in 2005 email marketing returned an amazing $57.25 in revenue per dollar spent on it!
How can you get started with email marketing? Start by collecting your customers’ email addresses. Even if you don’t currently do email marketing, gather your customers’ email addresses now so that, when you decide to start communicating with your customers via email, you’ll already have a good list. Have a sign-up sheet at each of your checkout counters or at your reception desk. Be sure to include a sign-up form on your website. Offer an incentive such as a monthly drawing from the collected email addresses. Be sure to include a privacy statement on your forms and sign-up sheets such as, “Privacy notice: We don’t share your information with anyone.” (Of course, that means you can’t share that information ever.) Remember, email addresses are free (or very inexpensive) to gather.
Now, the three secrets to making email marketing a winner for your business.
Secret number one: Do only “permission-based” email marketing. In other words, only send email to people who have requested your email messages and make it easy to opt-out of future emails. There is a slimy side to email marketing thanks to spammers. Obviously, you want to be associated with the reputable side of email marketing. If a customer, a prospect, or a site visitor willingly provides their email address, you’re not spamming. If you get it any other way, you’re spamming. A commonly used technique for dealing with subscription requests from your website is called a “double-opt-in”. A double-opt-in requires the individual to first request your email marketing, then a confirmation request is sent to their email address. They must click a link in the confirmation email or otherwise confirm their desire to receive your email before they’re added to your list. The rule is simple: If in doubt, don’t send it out.
Secret number two: Make your email marketing messages compelling for the reader. Keep them short and to-the-point and ensure that the recipient will see the value in whatever you’re saying. Increasingly, people are becoming distrustful of “hypie” messages that sound like they were written by an advertising copy writer. Make your message real, make it personal, and make it deliver a benefit from the readers’ perspective. If there’s nothing in it for them, they’ll just delete your message or possibly even report it as spam.
Secret number three: Be consistent. Whether you choose to send an email campaign every week, every month, or every quarter, be consistent. One very successful email marketer even includes these words at the top of every email he sends: “Sent the third Tuesday of every month…” Your consistency in your marketing efforts reflects your dependability as a company.
What about the mechanics of email marketing? Many very small businesses just use their regular email accounts. Such a solution can work, but it doesn’t scale well as your email list and business grow. It also requires you to manage your new subscribers and unsubscribe requests. A better solution is to use a commercial email marketing service. Such companies provide templates to make your messages look professional. They also provide tracking information on how many messages were actually opened and read, automatic opt-out links on your marketing messages, tutorials, assistance in complying with the CAN-SPAM act, and more. Costs start at about $10 per month and go up from there based on various criteria such as the size of your list and the frequency with which you send messages. Most such companies provide a free trial period so you can get familiar with their service. There are many email marketing companies, but here are three for you to consider: iContact (www.icontact.com), GetResponse (www.getresponse.com), and Constant Contact (www.constantcontact.com).
Make sure you’re compliant with the CAN-SPAM act. Of course, this is not legal advice (I’m no lawyer!), but compliance means being honest in your subject lines about the content of the message, including an easy opt-out method in every message, and including your complete contact information in every message.
Regardless of how you decide to do your email marketing, now is the time to start gathering email addresses. Email marketing, done properly, is flexible, affordable, efficient, and potentially very profitable for your business.
