Web Applications run like applications that are installed on your computer, one example of this is Adobe Flex. They can be used to create and edit pictures among many other things. Web Applications are in their very early stages of development.

A Web Application is just a PROGRAM, like any other program!
The only differences are that
- it is located on a server,
- it is accessible through a single URL (a web address) [There is only "one" copy of the program]
- if can be accessed by multiple users at the same time.
- user’s interactions influence the outcome for all simultaneous users.
